240 Series

At the CE show "IFA 2007" in Berlin the new 240 series featuring the "crystal membrane" was presented for the first time. Drivers with crystal membranes are characterized by their extraordinary wide transmission range. This gives more flexibility in designing and tuning the crossover network which makes it possible to "fill" a room with sound more homogeneously.

By this the positioning dependence of sound reproduction by loudspeakers in a room will be reduced. All woofer and midrange drivers of the 240 series are completely new designed by ELAC, the crystal-shaped surface of the aluminium membrane is definitely eye-catching. The crystal membrane and the voice coil being joined to the sandwich membrane at two separate locations create the basis for optimizing the 3D sound radiation in accordance with a smooth acoustic power response. The result is more precision and musicality.
